Knowledge is our Destiny: acrylic on canvas. 2007 (20"x16")

Artist's Statement: (For the "Summer Nudes '07" show at the Antreasian Gallery, 08 August - 30 August 2007.)

We live in what has been dubbed the Information Age. This is the present state of our long heritage of exploration,
reason, questioning of old paradigms, and the pursuit of scientific truths. Yet we are still vulnerable from the less
enlightened among us, who either from fear of change or blind devotion to power, want to deny us the benefits of
that knowledge and experience. They often hide behind the dominant religions to promote fear and shame. Shame for
using our minds, and shame of our own bodies.

All the knowledge gained from the study of this amazing Cosmos is, and should be, for everyone. To use a cliche'
from one of the common creation myths - the apple is there for the taking. Will you take a bite?
